On Sunday, July 6th, Muldoon's proudly honored  Marine Corps. Sgt. Ian Voss, the 25 year old Newport Beach native who has just recently returned from two tours of duty in Iraq. Sgt. Voss was inducted into the Muldoon's/ Guinness Wall of Fame in a very special ceremony. The Fenians performed a great rendition of "God Bless America" as a packed house stood and sang along. The crowd was made up of numerous members of the armed forces, both current and retired, as well as people who simply wished to join Muldoon's in showing support and appreciation for our troops. Originally Sgt. Voss was deployed to Kuwait in 2002 in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. At the time Lance Corporal Voss lived on the Iraqi border conducting training until March 20, 2003 when he was one of the first units to cross the border into Southern Iraq in the beginning of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Voss was involved in the destruction of enemy tanks throughout the region and the initial push to Baghdad that ultimately led to the fall of Saddam Hussein's regime. He left Iraq in June of 2003 and returned home to finish school at Orange Coast College and later Cal State Fullerton where he graduated in May of 2007 with a degree in Criminal Justice. In June of 2007 now Sergeant Voss was activated for a second tour and in October he deployed to Al Anbar, Iraq. During his 7 months in country he worked extensively conducting numerous missions and patrols throughout the region in cities like Hit, Rawah, and Haditha. Sgt. Voss returned in May of 2008 and plans to stay in the Marine Corps Reserves and pursue his civilian career.

We at Muldoon's wish to thank Sgt. Voss again for his work in defense of our country. And we thank him again for being with us on the 6th of July in one of our most special inductions ever.

The Guinness/Muldoon’s Wall of Fame was established in 1999 with the City of Newport Beach and recognizes individuals of Irish ancestry who reach high accomplishment. Past inductees include. Golden Globe winner Tom Beringer, Academy Award winning singer Maureen McGovern, Award winning writer Ray Bradbury, Tony Award winner John Mahoney, Emmy Award winner Fionnula Flanagan and Hall of Fame Sportscaster Chic Hearn.
